Easy Peasy Placemat - A FREE Crochet Pattern

 



FHDC-foundation half double crochet

HDC-half double crochet

SC-single crochet

CH-chain

ST-stitch

SLST-slip stitch


Yarn: Dishie by knitpicks or any other cotton yarn (affiliate link) 

Amount used: 85g per placemat

Hook size: 4mm or whatever size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge: 1 X 1" 3.5 stitches x 4 rows (but it's a placemat so gauge is not SUPER important, as long as the fabric is tight enough for your liking, just know that a different gauge / size will change the amount of yarn needed)

Final Measurements: 9.5" X 14"


FHDC 34 sts or more if you would like the placemat wider, CH1 turn


*HDC in the 1st ST, SC in the second ST*, repeat across row ending on a SC, CH1 turn


Repeat 


 *HDC in the 1st ST, SC in the second ST*, repeat across row ending on a SC, CH1 turn

          Until your placemat reaches 14" long or desired length


Turn & SlST across all STS

Rotate placemat and SLST evenly along the side of the mat

Rotate placemat and  SLST in the base of each FHDC 

Rotate placemat and SLST evenly along the side of the mat, SLST into the first SLST, cut yarn and pull through


Weave in ends
