I recently placed my first order with Hobbii and I was very pleased. I have to say the shipping did take a bit, but I also did not pay for the express shipping and it is coming from Denmark so keep that in mind when ordering. The regular shipping has a timeframe of 2-25 business days. My order to Canada took about 2.5 weeks.
One of the main products I wanted to try was the Molly Mayflower Wool.
Details:
Content:100% wool
Weight:150 g (5.3 oz)
Length:60 m (66 yds)
Recommended needles:10 - 12 mm (US 15-17)
Yarn Weight:Super Bulky
Washing:Hand-wash at 86℉
Price:$15.99 USD/ball, but the more you buy the more you save.
I bought 5 which meant they were &13.33USD/ball
I know that still sounds pricey for 150g of yarn BUT compared to other 100% wool yarn (ie WAK, $30USD/200g ball) this yarn is a bit more budget friendly.
Honestly I could not tell a difference from WAK the wool, if anything this yarn was a bit softer. It also worked up basically the same in my opinion.
For 150g I was able to make 1 adult sized beanie or 1 adult sized chunky cowl which is pretty good for 100% super chunky wool.
My one negative thought about this yarn is that the colors were a bit more dull in person then they showed on the site. Particularly the black, it was more of a super dark chocolate brown. It was still a very nice color though. There are 16 different colors to choose from, all solid.
Would I buy this yarn again? You bet. This will honestly most likely become my new go to 100% super chunky yarn. I like the price point and color selection.
Have you used this yarn before? What did you think?
What other Hobbii yarns should I check out next?
